Wuhan, September 3 — A report from the "China Automotive Parts Industry Annual Meeting" held in Wuhan recently revealed that China's auto production reached 4.457 million units in the first half of this year, marking a year-on-year growth of 22.4%. Meanwhile, vehicle exports surged to 241,000 units, reflecting an impressive increase of 110.7% compared to the same period last year.
According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers at the event, total automobile production and sales for the first half of 2007 stood at 4.457 million and 4.374 million units respectively, representing increases of 22.4% and 23.3% compared to the previous year. Passenger car production and sales were recorded at 3.151 million and 3.084 million units, up by 20.9% and 22.33% respectively. On the other hand, commercial vehicle production and sales reached 1.305 million and 1.289 million units, showing growth rates of 26.1% and 25.9% year-on-year.
These figures highlight the strong momentum in China's automotive industry, driven by both domestic demand and expanding international markets. The significant rise in exports suggests growing global confidence in Chinese-made vehicles, while the steady increase in domestic production and sales indicates a stable and healthy market environment.
