Yangtze University JPU high precision advection pump to play an economic benefit
The "JPU Ultra-High-Pressure Super-High-Flow Precision Advection Pump," developed by Yangtze University, has gained widespread recognition and application in domestic oil fields. In the past three years, over 300 units have been deployed, significantly contributing to the industry. Preliminary data show that these pumps have added an average of 200 million yuan in annual output value to the fields they operate in.
According to Dr. Yu Weichu from Yangtze University, as domestic oil resources continue to be explored, high-permeability oil fields are becoming increasingly rare, while low-permeability ones are more common. In experiments related to crude oil rheology, oil displacement mechanisms, sensitivity, and recovery, the working pressure and flow accuracy of existing pumps fall short of professional requirements. Before this innovation, China mainly relied on imported high-pressure, high-flow precision advection pumps, which were not only expensive—priced between 3 to 10 million yuan each—but also had various limitations in performance and reliability.
The JPU pump developed by Yangtze University offers a more efficient and cost-effective alternative. It is user-friendly, compact, and lightweight, with a price that is just one-fifth to one-tenth of imported models. Experts have noted that the technology behind this pump is at an international advanced level, making it a game-changer for the industry.
This versatile pump has potential applications across multiple sectors, including petroleum, chemical processing, environmental protection, food production, battery manufacturing, and even nuclear energy. The university has already secured national patents for the product. However, despite its promising potential, the current production volume remains limited due to factors like capital constraints, marketing challenges, and logistics issues. As a result, the pump is still primarily used within the petroleum sector and has yet to expand into other industries. With further investment and development, the JPU pump could soon become a key player in a wide range of industrial applications.
