Yangtze University JPU high precision advection pump to play an economic benefit
The "JPU ultrahigh-pressure super-high-flow precision advection pump," developed by Yangtze University, has gained widespread recognition and application in domestic oil fields, with over 300 units deployed in the past three years. According to initial statistics, these pumps have contributed an average annual output value of 200 million yuan to the fields they serve.
Dr. Yu Weichu from Yangtze University explains that as domestic oil resources continue to develop, high-permeability oil fields are becoming increasingly rare, while low-permeability fields are on the rise. In experiments involving crude oil rheology, oil displacement mechanisms, sensitivity, and recovery efficiency, traditional pumps often struggle with working pressure and flow accuracy, which limits their effectiveness in professional research settings.
Previously, most high-pressure, high-flow precision advection pumps used domestically were imported. These imported models, while functional, had several drawbacks—such as high costs and limited adaptability. Their price range typically fell between 3 to 10 million yuan, making them a costly option for many institutions.
In contrast, the JPU ultra-high-pressure precision advection pump developed by Yangtze University offers significant advantages. It is user-friendly, compact, and lightweight, with a cost that is only one-fifth to one-tenth of its imported counterparts. This high cost-performance ratio makes it an attractive alternative for both research and industrial applications.
Experts have noted that the technology behind this advection pump has reached international standards, comparable to similar instruments used globally. The potential applications of this product extend beyond the petroleum industry, covering sectors such as chemicals, environmental protection, food processing, battery manufacturing, and even nuclear energy.
Currently, Yangtze University has secured national patents for the technology. However, despite its promising performance, the production volume remains limited due to factors like capital constraints, marketing challenges, and logistics management. As a result, the pump is still primarily confined to the petroleum sector and has not yet expanded into other industries.
With further investment and strategic development, the JPU advection pump has the potential to become a game-changer in multiple industrial fields, offering a reliable, cost-effective, and high-performance solution for advanced fluid control needs.
