Chicago FD house fire 5-7-13
Still & Box Alarm 5814 Roscoe
Still Time: Approximately 1410 hours
Engine 94 was the first to arrive on a fire facing westbound and immediately deployed two lines. Truck 53 was assigned to Sector 1. Engine 7, as the second engine, secured a hydrant at the northwest corner of Newport and Menard and moved to the rear via the alley. Engine 68 approached from the east on Roscoe and also laid a line. The Fire Alarm Operator received multiple calls about the gazebo on fire in the rear. The fire quickly spread to the back of the Chicago bungalow, into the attic, and then to the exposure on the west side. I arrived well after the fire had been fully extinguished. Thanks for the update, Dan Shevlin.
