Orland FPD to remodel Station 2

The Orland Fire Protection District is preparing to start a major renovation of Station #2. This project marks a significant step forward in modernizing the facility to better serve the community and meet current safety standards. Station 2, located at 151st and 80th Avenue, was originally constructed in 1980. At the time, it was designed to support volunteer firefighters and part-time personnel, featuring a single bay along with an office, kitchen, and day area. It was never intended for full-time living or 24-hour operations. However, as the district’s needs grew, so did the station's role. Over the years, multiple upgrades were made to allow for overnight stays and around-the-clock service. Additional bays were added, and the kitchen and common areas were expanded to accommodate more personnel and longer shifts. Due to the many modifications over the decades, bringing Station 2 up to code would only be a temporary fix. Recognizing this, the Orland Fire Protection District Board of Trustees approved a complete and comprehensive renovation during their meeting in June 2013. The project is now set to begin this fall and is expected to take approximately eight weeks. An artist’s rendering of the updated Station 2 has been released, giving residents a glimpse of what the new facility will look like. The design aims to provide a more functional and efficient space that supports the growing demands of the fire department. You can view the full renovation plans by clicking [HERE](#).
