Misconception 1: Lubricants are frequently added without changing the lubricating oil. Correcting the lubricating oil is correct. However, supplementing the oil without replacing it can only compensate for the shortage of oil, but it cannot fully compensate for the loss of lubricating oil performance. During the use of lubricating oil, the quality of the lubricating oil will gradually decrease due to pollution, oxidation, etc. At the same time, there will be some consumption and the quantity will be reduced.

Misconception 2: The use of additives The true high-quality lubricant is a finished product with a variety of engine protection functions. Formulations already contain a variety of additives, including anti-wear agents, and lubricants are the most balanced formulation to ensure full performance. Play. Adding other additives by themselves will not only bring no additional protection to the vehicle, but will easily react with the chemical substances in the engine oil, resulting in a decline in the overall performance of the engine oil.

Misconception 3: When the oil becomes dark, the oil change is not comprehensive. For lubricating oils that do not add a clear dispersant, the color blackening is indeed a sign that the oil has been seriously deteriorated, but the lubricants used in Hyundai Motors are generally added with a decomposing agent. This clearing agent cleans the film and black coke adhering to the piston and disperses it in the oil to reduce the formation of high-temperature deposits in the engine. Therefore, after a certain period of time, the color of the lubricant can easily turn black, but at this time The oil has not completely deteriorated.

Misunderstanding 4: Lubricant can be added more. The amount of lubricant should be controlled between the upper and lower tick marks of the oil dipstick. Because too much lubricating oil will enter the combustion chamber from the gap between the cylinder and the piston and burn to form carbon deposits. These coke deposits will increase the engine compression ratio and increase the tendency to produce knocking. Coking in a red hot state in the cylinder will also cause premature combustion. If it falls into the cylinder, it will increase the wear of cylinders and pistons, and it will also accelerate the pollution of the lubricant. Secondly, too much lubricating oil increases the stirring resistance of the crankshaft connecting rod, which increases the fuel consumption.
