3D Printing Technology First Used in Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station

Recently, China General Nuclear Power Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. announced that its scientific research project "3D printing technology in the nuclear power plant Spare Parts and parts manufacturing and repair process key technology research" made a breakthrough progress, the project team selected fused additive technology R & D and manufacturing of refrigerators The end cap successfully completed the installation of the equipment in the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station compressed air production system and was re-qualified through the operation of the equipment.
According to reports, the metal 3D printing chiller cover was successfully installed and safely put into operation at Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station. It successfully solved the problem that the chiller cover of the system was modified by foreign manufacturers and the spare parts could not be supplied. It was a 3D printing technology in nuclear power. The first demonstration application of engineering practice in the field indicates that 3D printing technology has achieved a major leap from theoretical research, technical analysis, and engineering practice in the field of nuclear power.
It is worth noting that CGN's successful 3D printing technology is inseparable from the listed company Nanfeng. In December 2017, Nanfeng announced that the company had signed the "China-Gangsu Nuclear Power Plant Additive Manufacturing Technology and Product Cooperation R&D Cooperation Agreement" with China Guangdong Nuclear Power Operating Company.
In accordance with this "Agreement," CGNPC's operating companies provide the technical requirements and original design data for nuclear power plant demand products, provide product technical specifications or development mission statements, and provide necessary technical support in the process of additive technology and product development. Nanfeng Joint Subsidiary Southern Additives is responsible for the completion of product design and manufacturing process determination, as well as product manufacturing, inspection, testing, appraisal, etc., and organizes the preparation of relevant technical documents. CGNPC's operating companies conduct necessary supervision and inspection.
Nanfeng Co., Ltd. believes that through the cooperation with China Guangdong Nuclear Power Operating Company, it will accelerate the pace of industrialization in the nuclear power industry by promoting the use of precision metal forming technology for heavy metal components (namely, heavy metal 3D printing technology and additive manufacturing technology). Up to now, Southern Additive has completed the R&D and production of the spare parts additive for the heat exchanger cover of the SAP chiller in the nuclear power plant, and has already delivered the company to the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Operating Company.
