"Tianwen-1" Mars probe successfully launched

[ Instrument Network Instrument Research and Development ] At 12:41 on July 23, the Long March 5 Yao-4 launch vehicle carrying the "Tianwen-1" probe was ignited and launched at China's Wenchang Satellite Launch Center. After the rocket flew for about 2167 seconds, the probe and the rocket successfully separated and entered the predetermined orbit. The launch was a complete success. According to the plan, after the "Tianwen-1" probe is launched into the sky, it will enter the ground fire transfer orbit and begin a nearly 7-month journey into the fire.
In the "Tianwen No. 1" mission, the Chinese Academy of Sciences continued to lead the demonstration and put forward the mission scientific goal and payload configuration plan, and continued to undertake the ground application system, the payload subsystem, and the very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) orbit measurement subsystem. And a number of key engineering key product development tasks, follow-up will also jointly organize with the National Space Administration to carry out scientific data application research.
National Astronomical Observatory of Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Space Science Center, Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Yunnan Observatory, Xinjiang Observatory, Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Institute of Aerospace Information Innovation, Institute of Optoelectronic Technology, Shanghai Technical Physics 13 units, including the Institute, the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, the University of Science and Technology of China, and the Institute of Solid State Physics, Hefei Institute of Material Science, participated in the development of "Tianwen No. 1" related tasks as the main research unit, breaking through Large data transmission distance, high precision, low time delay, multi-target interferometry and orbit determination prediction, key payload development and data processing technology, special aerospace material development and many other key technologies are launched for "Tianwen-1" The mission was a complete success and played an irreplaceable role.
The Mars exploration mission (“Tianwen No. 1” mission) was approved and implemented by the State Council in 2016. This mission is the first time that my country has independently implemented Mars exploration. It will launch a probe consisting of an orbiter and a landing patrol into the Mars orbit. The landing patrol consists of an entry module and a patrol (Mars rover) to carry out surround and patrol exploration. A total of 13 payloads and 2 payload data processors are configured.
The orbital exploration focuses on the global, holistic, and comprehensive detailed survey and exploration of Mars, and establishes a scientific understanding of the overall and global Mars. It is equipped with 7 payloads, including medium-resolution cameras, high-resolution cameras, orbiter subsurface detection radar, Mars mineral spectrum analyzer, Mars magnetometer, Mars ion and neutral particle analyzer, and Mars energy particle analyzer. The patrol survey focuses on high-precision, high-resolution fine detection and in-position analysis of key areas on the surface of Mars. The rover is equipped with six payloads, including multi-spectral cameras, terrain cameras, subsurface detection radars, Mars surface composition detectors, Mars surface magnetic field detectors, and Mars weather measuring instruments. Through the independent detection of the orbiter and the patrol and the coordinated detection of the sky and the earth, scientific detection of the surface morphology, soil characteristics, material composition, water ice, atmospheric ionosphere, magnetic field, etc. of Mars is realized, and related research is carried out.
Through the successful implementation of the lunar exploration project Chang'e 1, 2, 3, and 4 missions, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has trained and organized in the fields of lunar and deep space exploration data reception and processing, VLBI, light and miniaturized scientific payload development, and key aerospace materials. It has established a professional, high-quality, experienced engineering management and technology development team that adapts to the development trend of international lunar and deep space exploration. At the same time, in the rapidly rising domestic planetary science and other emerging research fields, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has also emerged a group of outstanding young and middle-aged scientists, who are expected to learn about the life information on Mars, the internal structure of Mars, the Martian magnetic field and its formation and evolution, and the geological characteristics and evolution of Mars. A series of original scientific achievements have been made in research fields such as history.
