Oak Park firefighters were called to a residential fire this morning at 1110 Taylor Street. A neighbor reported seeing smoke coming from the roof, prompting an immediate response. Upon arrival, crews found a one-and-a-half story brick bungalow with visible smoke emanating from the rear of the second floor. The fire was confined to a single room, but it had spread into the attic and eaves. A single hose line was deployed, and a backup line was pulled but not charged, as the fire was quickly brought under control. Tim Olk arrived at the scene after the fire was fully extinguished and captured several photos documenting the aftermath. His images show firefighters standing by in the rear of the home, ready for any follow-up action. Firefighters stand by in the rear after the fire was knocked down.
