China's Strategic Oil Production Pipeline Passing the West China Oil Pipeline into Operation in July

The reporter learned from the China National Petroleum Corporation's West Pipeline Co., Ltd. on June 12 that the western crude oil and refined product pipelines in Shanxi Shanshan and Wulumuqi and Lanzhou have been basically connected. The refined oil pipelines will fully start the pre-acceptance work on June 14. , took the lead in the completion phase. It is expected that the refined oil pipeline will be put into operation in July this year, and the crude oil pipeline will be put into full production next summer. After these two pipelines are completed, they will be linked with the oil pipelines in the eastern region to form the strategic route of “West China Oil Transportation”.

The Western Shanxi crude oil and refined oil pipeline project from Shanshan in Xinjiang and Urumqi to Lanzhou is a national key construction project. The total length of crude oil pipelines and feeders in Xinjiang from Shanshan to Lanzhou, Gansu Province is 1878.4 kilometers. It mainly transports crude oil extracted from the Tarim Basin, Junggar Basin, and Turpan-Hami Basin. The designed annual oil transmission capacity is 20 million tons; Urumqi is located in Lanzhou, Gansu Province. The total length of the main pipelines and branch lines of the refined oil pipelines is 1,903 kilometers. It mainly transports refined oil produced by Urumqi Petrochemical Company, Karamay Petrochemical Company and Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, and is designed to deliver 10 million tons of oil annually. The Western China crude oil product pipeline was started construction in September 2004. The two pipelines were laid in the same trenches and the stations were merged. The total project investment was RMB 14.6 billion. At present, the main pipeline project has entered the final stage, and various preliminary preparations for transporting refined oil products are intensifying.

The construction of these two major pipelines with large volumes, long distances, and high pressures will form a complete economic chain along the western region of production, refining, chemical production, transportation and sales, and open access to oil channels linked to Central Asia. The northeast and north China pipeline networks are connected into a backbone pipeline network, connecting the oil pipelines and petrochemical enterprises in Xinjiang, Gansu, eastern and southwest regions, so that the abundant resources in the west and the eastern market can be effectively connected, forming the “West Oil East” , North Oil South tune "a huge oil supply network structure.
