**Introduction of Magnetic Separator**
A magnetic separator is a device used to separate materials based on their magnetic properties. It is widely applied in industries such as mining, lumbering, ceramics, chemistry, and food processing. This equipment is suitable for both wet and dry magnetic separation of materials with particle sizes below 3mm, including magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, and ilmenite. It is also used for deironing coal, non-metallic minerals, and building materials.
**Working Principle of Magnetic Separator**
When the ore pulp enters the trough through the feeding box, it flows into the feeding zone in a loose state under the influence of water flow. Under the effect of the magnetic field, magnetic particles form magnetic groups or chains. These groups are attracted toward the magnetic poles and adsorbed onto the cylinder. As the cylinder rotates, the alternating polarity of the magnetic poles causes non-magnetic gangue to fall off due to magnetic mixing. The magnetic concentrate is then discharged from the concentrate slot by flushing water. If an all-magnetic roller is used, a brush roller handles the discharge. Non-magnetic or weakly magnetic materials remain in the pulp and are discharged as tailings.
