This is from Larry Shapiro: Early this afternoon, Long Grove firefighters responded to a tractor-trailer rollover on the ramp from northbound I-53 to westbound Lake Cook Road. The location has seen numerous truck accidents in recent years. Alongside Long Grove units, Buffalo Grove Tower 25 also arrived at the scene. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and required immediate extrication. Once the driver was safely transported to the hospital, fire crews remained on standby while a towing and recovery company took over the task of uprighting and removing the truck and trailer from the ramp. The operation involved multiple heavy-duty vehicles and took some time to complete, as the truck had landed on its side and was difficult to move.
