House fire in Des Plaines, 2-17-24

On Saturday afternoon, a fire broke out in an attached garage on Middleton Court, prompting a swift response from Des Plaines Fire Department and mutual aid companies. Des Plaines Engine 61 was the first to arrive and confirmed the fire in the garage. The crews launched an aggressive attack, as flames spread into the main house. Engine 61 was positioned at a hydrant in the cul-de-sac, allowing for a steady water supply. Interior crews reported that fire had reached the top of the stairs on the second floor and had also extended into the attic. In response, additional units from Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect, Niles, and North Maine Fire Protection District were dispatched to assist with the growing incident. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze and prevent further damage. Multiple firetrucks, including a Pierce Enforcer and a Pierce ArrowXT, were seen on the scene, highlighting the scale of the operation.
