This turret wagon was a key part of the Chicago Fire Department’s specialized equipment during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The original unit, G-366, was built on a Mack MB607T chassis and featured powerful hydraulic monitors that could deliver up to 20,000 gallons per minute, making it one of the most advanced firefighting units of its time. The second version, G-374, used a Chevrolet C20 chassis and was upgraded in 1978 with Eastman high-pressure monitors, offering a slightly lower but still impressive flow rate of 4,000 GPM. These vehicles were not only functional but also represented the evolving technology and tactics in urban firefighting. Bill Friedrich's photos provide a rare glimpse into the history of these unique machines.
