It’s been more than a year since the world was turned upside down by the global spread of the coronavirus. No one could have predicted just how deeply it would reshape every aspect of life. While safety protocols, CDC guidelines, and virtual communication have become part of daily routines, the initial fear and uncertainty have given way to resilience, innovation, and renewal among MACC members—including Nationwide Coils.

How did your business respond during the early months of the pandemic?

Under FDA guidelines, we were considered an essential business and continued to support our customers, many of whom were also deemed essential. Hospitals, in particular, relied on us to maintain their indoor climate control systems, which were critical during the crisis.

Although there was a noticeable slowdown compared to 2019, we were fortunate that production never stopped. We maintained full operations throughout the pandemic, even as we tightened budgets and reduced non-essential spending. Our team remained fully employed and committed to serving our clients.

Did any of your employees test positive for COVID-19, and how did you manage it?

We had a few confirmed cases of COVID-19, and those employees followed CDC quarantine guidelines. Fortunately, this did not disrupt our operations, and we supported each other through the challenges as a strong team.

When did you start seeing a real turnaround in business, and what changes did you notice?

Business didn’t pick up significantly until early 2021, but we stayed steady through the uncertainty. The severe winter storm that hit Texas and the central U.S. in mid-February led to a major increase in demand.

With almost two decades in business, we’ve learned to expect ups and downs. As vaccinations continue to roll out, we're hopeful that we’re nearing the end of this difficult chapter.

What does the future hold for your company?

The outlook is positive for Nationwide Coils. We’ve taken on new, larger contracts, expanded our team, and are excited about moving our New York headquarters to a bigger space. We’re ready to grow and adapt as the world continues to recover.
